Day 20 and the scales show I have lost 1.3kg….it is so weird, I was so sure I was going to have lost more weight because I feel so much slimmer. The inches are going, especially on my tummy and that was my main goal, so I am thrilled with that.

Nothing has changed about my fitness routine. I was already working out about 5-6 days a week, meal prepping and eating clean about 90% of the time. My cheat meals were usually just increased calories because I love food!
I know my mid-section weight gain over the last year has everything to do with my age and hormones. I was struggling with my mood, sleep cycles, and energy.
GLP1 has given me the best nights sleep, literally every night since day 1. I remember my dreams, and feel so rested. I have more control of my food quantities, and I have not really craved any sweets or alcohol. Winning!

I have NEVER written a testimonial on any product I have tried associated with weight loss. I have seen some comments by people who are discouraged they are not getting the positive results others are getting. I should be one of those people. I started MB 2 weeks ago. In that 2 weeks, I have gained 5 pounds, and most of my measurements have gone up, not down.
I should be extremely discouraged. I am coming from taking the injection to this program, so I know my body is starting at zero GLP-1,and I need to give my body a chance to start making its own, which is going to take some time. I am, however, getting the benefit of way less food noise and super deep sleep, which are wins in my book.
BUT, the best thing that happened in those 2 weeks is the very last number in my readings – lean body mass. It went up 1.45 in two weeks, meaning I have increased my muscle tissue that much in 2 short weeks!!! This is HUGE!! If I only focused on the numbers we have been taught to look at, weight and inches, I’d feel pretty discouraged.
The teensy increase in inches makes total sense, as we start building muscle tissue faster than we burn fat. Having been a group fitness instructor for many, many years, it was extremely hard to explain to people who are starting their fitness journey that they might get bigger before they get smaller, as we start transitioning our body mass from fat to muscle. I did no more exercise than I usually do, which is mainly horse related at this point in my life. I am that much more healthy today than 2 weeks ago, solely based on the increase in muscle tissue!
My point, and why I stepped out of my comfort zone to write this post, is that there is so much more to look at than the scale or the tape measure.
The system is working, but will show in many different ways, and we need to be patient and trust ourselves and our bodies as we take this journey!
